Position Purpose:

This position is responsible for providing outstanding member service through implementing youth activities, teaching youth how to use the fitness center, supervising fitness center rules and safety enforcement, and overseeing youth summer camps.

Education, Experience, & Skills (Minimum Requirement):

High School Diploma or GED required. Preferred skills include: working knowledge of fitness equipment, basic understanding of safety procedures, excellent customer service skills, professional communication and the ability to work effectively with people of different backgrounds, abilities, opinions, and perceptions.

Licensure/Certification Requirement(s):

  • CPR/AED and First Aid certification required upon hire or obtained within three (3) months of hire.


  • Greets all members and youth participants in a professional manner as they arrive for wellness and camp activities.
  • Promotes all aspects and benefits of the facility in a positive manner and by example.
  • Communicates with youth in a friendly and positive manner at all times.
  • Is knowledgeable of youth programs and teaches class concepts in each session.
  • Is available to ensure safety in youth activities and camps. Tasks would include, but are not limited to, child check-in/check-out, field trip transportation, etc.
  • Keeps youth activity area organized and clean at all times to ensure safety.
  • Completes cleaning tasks as assigned for youth session.
  • Keeps equipment repaired and functional, informing supervisor of maintenance needs.
  • Monitors youth and creates positive interactions and a fun environment for activities.

Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
